We established this movement to raise awareness about the dangers of mylar balloons and other pollution as well. These balloons are harmful towards turtles because of their tendency to look like jellyfish-the turtles main source of nutrients. Turtles are unable to differentiate between these balloons and food to eat, causing them to ingest the hazardous plastic, often times killing them. Thousands of marine animals die each year because of pollution. Every time I go to the beach, I find all sorts of trash-especially balloons-littered carelessly about! It is up to us to make a change, and BAM encourages all of you who live near the beach to get up, and go save a turtle’s life!
Go to your local beach and show us you care! Do a beach sweep with some friends (and make sure to look out for Mylar balloons!) or get yourself a cute new bracelet! When you purchase one of our adorable turtle bracelets, we donate all of the proceeds to *insert charity of choice here* and help save marine animals lives.
